The Abuse of Power by Professional Platforms for jobs seekers: When Strength Rhymes with Oppression

In a world where professional social networks claim to be essential for establishing connections and finding a job, a crucial question arises: to what extent can they abuse their power without being held accountable?

A Position Above the Law?

Some platforms seem to arrogate rights that go beyond the legal framework. Through opaque and unconstitutional internal regulations, they impose practices that infringe on the privacy of their members and clients.

A glaring example is the demand for sensitive documents under the pretext of identity verification.

2FA (two-factor authentication) is already an effective and widely adopted security measure. So why require a driver's license or passport, highly confidential documents?

This practice illustrates a clear abuse of power.

Abusive Billing and Arbitrary Restrictions

Another injustice is the persistence of billing even when a user is 'shadowbanned' meaning rendered invisible without official notification. How can a company justify continuing to charge fees when, in reality, access to the paid service has been restricted?

This amounts to charging for a product that is no longer delivered, a practice that, in many other sectors, would be considered fraud.

Lack of Transparency and Justification

When a user is restricted, often without a clear explanation, they have the right to demand accountability. But these platforms hide behind algorithms and ineffective customer service, refusing to provide valid reasons for these sanctions.

Isn't this a violation of the fundamental right to transparency and justice?

A Dehumanized and Disrespectful Customer Service

Rather than offering effective support, users are left at the mercy of chatbots that often provide absurd responses.

Waiting weeks for a response that solves nothing is not only frustrating, but it is also a clear sign of disrespect towards the customers who fund these platforms.

If technology is supposed to enhance user experience, here it becomes an impenetrable barrier against any contestation.

An Immoral Demonstration of Power

When a company has colossal financial resources, it can afford to ignore the rules of decency.

Between forced billing, unjustified restrictions, and lack of support, these practices show a total disregard for the dignity of their users. What matters is profit, not respect for individuals.

Conclusion: Towards a Collective Awakening?

Faced with these abuses, it is urgent to ask: should users continue to accept these deviations or demand more transparency and respect for their rights? Perhaps it is time for regulators to step in and remind these platforms that they are not above the law.

The power of users lies in their ability to mobilize, make their voices heard, and, if necessary, leave these platforms in favor of more respectful ones. After all, without their members, these platforms are nothing.
